Luton Gala Report

With 13 swimmers how many PB's can you reasonably expect over a 2 day, 4 session event? Well, with 41 at this meet we should be proud of the effort all of our swimmers put in.

A few swimmers PB'd in almost every event they did, Kerryanne, Sahil, Lotte and Ted doing their very best throughout the weekend, with Sahil doing by far the most swims and achieving PB’s in all but his last event.

Perhaps the best swim of the week end (and it’s difficult to single out one in particular) was Ted’s 400 IM of 5:52.24 – a Regional qualifying, his final of 8 regional qualifying times in total. We also shouldn’t forget Kerryanne, who now has regional qualifying times in all but the 200’s Fly and Back and is within 6% of her national times in 5 events.

What perhaps is most pleasing is that everyone improved their racing in some way. Those who started the weekend giving the opposition a 1 meter advantage off the blocks ended their racing staying with the leaders. Above all every swimmer became mentally tougher over the 2 days of racing.

Almost all of our swimmers won medals of some colour so congratulations to all – you did a great job.
