Welcome to the latest issue of 'support', bringing you news from London 2012.

In this issue you can find out about the new Business Network. It will help businesses of all sizes across the UK make the most of thousands of Games-related opportunities on offer between now and 2012.

There is also the latest news from the Olympic Park site, where work is ahead of schedule.

This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the first London Olympic Games, in 1908. Celebrations started with the London Marathon this month.

London marks centenary of the Olympic Games

This year's London Marathon marked 100 years since the official 26.2 miles distance was set, at the London 1908 Games. It was the distance from Windsor Castle to the Royal Box in the Olympic Stadium. Read more about the Marathon

The 1908 Games ran from April to October and featured 110 events - there will be 300 in 2012. Great Britain topped the medals table - a feat we have not yet managed to repeat. Read more about our Olympic heritage

Business Network offers UK-wide opportunities

The online London 2012 Business Network has launched, offering businesses of all sizes the chance to make the most of London 2012-related opportunities. The site includes information about current and upcoming contracts.

Pre-Games Training Camps venues cover UK

Over 600 top class sporting facilities from across the UK will appear in the London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camps Guide to be launched this summer.

They hope to attract top athletes from around the world to their area before the Games, bringing sporting and business opportunities. Read more

Stadium construction ahead of schedule

Construction of the Olympic Stadium is due to start at the end of May, three months ahead of schedule. A sunken ‘bowl’ has been dug into the soil - in some areas ground levels have been lowered by up to nine metres. The bowl will hold the 25,000 permanent seats, surrounded by 55,000 removable seats that will be taken away after the Games. Read more

New partners sign up

London 2012 has welcomed new Tier One commercial partners in the airline and communications services categories. British Airways and BT have signed deals that give them exclusive marketing rights to the 2012 Games. Deloitte has also signed as a Tier Two partner, in the professional services category.

Culture programme opens for business
The Culture team is inviting organisations from around the UK to be part of the London 2012 culture programme when it launches in September. Jude Kelly explains more on the London 2012 blog

The Get Set London roadshow has finished its three-month journey around the capital, explaining the opportunities offered by the Games. There were also sports and cultural displays to enjoy and take part in. See pictures and read more about the roadshow
